Thromboxane B2-d9 (TXB2-d9) is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of TXB2 (Item No. 19030) by GC- or LC-MS. TXB2 is a non-enzymatically derived, stable, inactive metabolite of TXA2, which is highly unstable.{488,868,53874} Serum levels of TXB2 positively correlate with platelet COX-1 activation.{53875,53876} Urinary levels of TXB2 reflect intrarenal TXA2 synthesis, while its metabolites, 11-dehydro TXB2 (Item No. 19500) and 2,3-dinor TXB2 (Item No. 19050), reflect systemic TXA2 secretion.{868,6304,717} TXB2-d9 MaxSpec® standard is a quantitative grade standard of TXB2-d9 (Item No. 9002563) that has been prepared specifically for mass spectrometry and related applications where quantitative reproducibility is required. The solution has been prepared gravimetrically and is supplied in a deactivated glass ampule sealed under argon. The concentration was verified by comparison to an independently prepared calibration standard. This TXB2-d9 MaxSpec® standard is guaranteed to meet identity, purity, stability, and concentration specifications and is provided with a batch-specific certificate of analysis. Ongoing stability testing is performed to ensure the concentration remains accurate throughout the shelf life of the product. Note: The amount of solution added to the vial is in excess of the listed amount. Therefore, it is necessary to accurately measure volumes for preparation of calibration standards. Follow recommended storage and handling conditions to maintain product quality.
