Poliumoside is a phenylethanoid glycoside that has been found in C. dichotoma and has diverse biological activities.{48655,63154,63155,63156} It scavenges DPPH (Item No. 14805) and ABTS (Item No. 27317) radicals (IC50s = 10.9 and 19.9 µM), as well as inhibits the activity of PKC? (IC50 = 24.4 µM), in cell-free assays.{48655,63154} Poliumoside (12.5-100 µM) reduces LPS-induced production of TNF-? and IL-6 in RAW 264.7 cells.{63155} It decreases glutamate-induced cytotoxicity in primary rat cortical neurons when used at concentrations of 0.1, 1, or 10 µM.{63156}
