Nitracaine is a structural analog of dimethocaine, a local anesthetic that inhibits dopamine reuptake through the dopamine transporter and is characterized by reinforcing behavioral effects in rhesus monkey similar to that of cocaine.{23694} The physiological and toxicological properties of this compound are not known.
