Licoflavone C is a prenylated flavone that has been found in G. ephedroides and has diverse biological activities.{60833,60834,60835} It induces estrogen receptor-dependent gene expression in S. cerevisiae expressing human estrogen receptor ? (ER?) in a reporter assay when used at a concentration of 0.1 µM.{60833} Licoflavone C inhibits LPS-induced production of nitric oxide (NO) in RAW 264.7 macrophages (IC50 = 20.4 µM).{60834} It is active against E. coli, P. aeruginosa, and various strains of Candida (MICs = 7.81-15.62 µg/ml) and is cytotoxic to HepG2 cells (IC50 = 9 µg/ml).{60835}
