Byakangelicol is a furanocoumarin that has been found in A. dahurica and has diverse biological activities.{60674,60675,60676,60677} It inhibits acetylcholinesterase (AChE) and butyrylcholinesterase (BChE; IC50s = 46.3 and 45.2 µM, respectively).{60674} Byakangelicol inhibits LPS-induced production of nitric oxide (NO) in RAW 264.7 cells (IC50 = 16.9 µg/ml) and IL-1?-induced COX-2 activity and prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) release in A549 cells when used at concentrations ranging from 10 to 50 µM.{60675,60676} It also reduces cytotoxicity induced by tacrine (Item No. 70240) in HepG2 cells (EC50 = 36.6 µM).{60677}
