Substituted cathinones, like ethcathinone, are psychoactive compounds commonly used as recreational drugs.{20338,19508} Some have amphetamine-like effects.{20224} Buphedrone (hydrochloride) is a substituted cathinone characterized by an ethyl group at the alpha position and an N-terminal methyl group.
