Asoprisnil is a selective progesterone receptor modulator (SPRM).{64364} It selectively binds to the progesterone receptor over the glucocorticoid receptor. Asoprinil inhibits the proliferation of vaginal epithelium and induces mucification of the vaginal epithelium in guinea pigs. It also inhibits ovulation in guinea pigs when administered at doses greater than 1 mg/kg.{64365}
