Isoreserpiline is an indole alkaloid that has been found in R. tetraphylla and has diverse biological activities.{52748,57567} It has a synergistic effect on the antibacterial activity induced by nalidixic acid (Item No. 19807) in nalidixic acid-sensitive and -resistant strains of E. coli.{57567} It also reduces amphetamine-induced hyperactivity in mice when administered at a dose of 25 mg/kg.{52748}
