Dehydro nifedipine is an active metabolite of nifedipine (Item No. 11106), a calcium channel blocker present in formulations used to treat hypertension and angina.{39341,39342,20226,20230} Dehydro nifedipine is formed when nifedipine is metabolized by the cytochrome P450 (CYP) isomers CYP3A4 and CYP3A5.{39342} Dehydro nifedipine inhibits glucose uptake in PC-12 cells with an IC50 value of 130 ?M.{39341}
