Stearoyl ethanolamide-d3 is intended for use as an internal standard for the quantification of stearoyl ethanolamide (Item No. 90245) by GC- or LC-mass spectrometry. Stearoyl ethanolamide is a member of the family of fatty N-acyl ethanolamines collectively called anandamides. Stearoyl ethanolamide is the most abundant of several fatty acid ethanolamides produced by the PLD hydrolysis of mouse neuroblastoma cell membrane phospholipids.{5307} The specific role of stearoyl ethanolamide in the cannabinergic system is still to be elucidated.
