Mazindol (Item No. 21642) is an analytical reference standard structurally categorized as a stimulant that can be detected in urine and plasma.{34199} It blocks reuptake at the norepinephrine and dopamine transporters, with less inhibition at the serotonin transporter (Kis = 3.2, 27.6, and 153 nM, respectively).{34200} Formulations containing mazindol were previously used in treatment of Duchenne muscular dystrophy but it was discontinued from use in the United States. Mazindol is used illegally as an anorectic. This product is intended for research and forensic applications.
