- Product Overview:
Enzyme ImmunoAssay (EIA) is a technique to detect and quantify antigens (proteins, hormones…) or antibodies in samples. It relies on the ability of an antibody to bind a specific antigen. Either the antibody or the antigen is labelled with an enzyme whose substrate is a chromogen or a fluorogen converted in a measurable product (color or fluorescence).|Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) is a type of EIA using a solid phase (ex: microtiter plate) coated with an antigen immobilizing the molecule to detect. Over the time, scientists have extended the term ELISA to EIAs using an antibody coating the solid phase. That explains why our EIA kits using coated antibodies are also called ELISA kits.|Interleukin 28B (IL-28B), recently renamed interferon- λ3 (IFNλ3), is one of the 9 members of the IL-10 family(1) (IL-10/IL-19/IL-20/IL-22/IL-24/IL-26/IL-28A/IL-28B and IL-29). It has been classified as type III interferon(2). |IL-28B is a polypeptide of 170 amino acids with a molecular weight of 19.6 kDa. IL-28B structure contains six antiparallel helices(3) |This cytokine is produced at a monomeric state(4) by plasmacytoid dendritic cells after virus infection or dsRNA. Moreover its production is enhanced by Interferon-α.|The main function of IL28B is antiviral action by the modulation of the expression of MHC (Type I/II) in dentritic cells or by the modulation of CCR7 receptor mediating dentritic cells migration.
