Pentylone is a synthetic cathinone that has been detected in party pills and powders.{19193,19508} Structurally, pentylone features a 3,4-methylenedioxy group attached to the phenone moiety which characterizes cathinones. 2,3-Pentylone isomer (hydrochloride) is a structural isomer of pentylone, having the methylenedioxy group attached at carbons 2 and 3 of the terminal phenyl group.
